Happening right now

☼ ☼ ☼

In life, you will come to know many people, many days, many places.

Some places, you will just pass through, on your journey to somewhere better.

Some places, you will linger, either deliberately because it is where you feel that you belong, or because you are not quite ready to leave yet.

Every place is like a small patch on a quilt, some larger than others, and some more inspiring or unique; but when you weave them all together, you can see that each place had its purpose in completing the final artwork that is your life.

We meet many people in each of these places: some, great friends; others, seeming to exist just to make our lives harder. Some people come into our lives for only a moment, but they seem to act as an angel, giving us something we need right as we need it; conversely, there are also the people who cling on for far too long and without any great payoff.

As we are going about our daily journey, we often forget that every person, no matter how fleeting or significant they may be in our lives, has their own story; and that every interaction we share has the opportunity to shape that story as well as our own.

Some of us have few days to live these experiences, while some of us have many. The only thing we all share is we do not know the number of days we have. While that is a frightening thought, it is also a very meaningful thing to know. Each place we pass through and every person we meet, will leave a mark on us forever.

In our day-to-day, it is sometimes hard to take a step back and see beyond the drudgery of routine, to feel something as it comes at you. But we need to try, otherwise all we do is go through the daily slog while looking back on memories or dreaming of what’s to come, without ever recognizing that our life is happening right now.
